Mary 'Molly' Gregory,
a Bennington College graduate in sculpture, came to Black Mountain in the
fall of 1941 as an apprentice teacher to study with Josef Albers and was
hired to teach woodworking. When she arrived, the interior of the Studies
Building had yet to be completed. Her skills were invaluable, not only in
the completion of the Studies Building, but also in the construction of
other buildings.
